The Waterfront Museum is dedicated to celebrating the New York City waterfront and invites the public, schools and private groups to utilize their restored barge in Brooklyn. In 1998, the Barge was designated by the United Nations as the "Regional Craft of the Year of the Oceans" for The Waterfront Museum's work in opening up waterfronts for the use and enjoyment of the general public.
