Somewhere along the well-lubricated timeline of drinking, the public house transitioned into two types of bars: quaint, nostalgic watering holes with high prices and ridiculous decorations, and the far more compelling dive bar. Local 269 finds the middle-ground between dive and pub, that neanderthal-in-mid-crouch part of the evolutionary spectrum, staying true to its Irish heritage as a social drinking establishment and its American roots as a place for the working class to fill and empty glass after glass.
