Danny Meyer's Romanesque trattoria at the Gramercy Park Hotel has a decidedly casual feel, which isn't altogether surprising giving the proprietor's tenure as master of the Shake Shack. While certainly above and beyond that parkside treasure's price point, the decor alone is worth the price of admission, with soft tans and wood setting up an atmosphere that's as much comfort as the food.
Surprising no one, however, is that a Meyer-owned property should have a phenomenal burger, but if you need convincing, you only have to look at the ingredients to lose your suspicions and possibly your interest in whatever you'd originally planned on having for lunc. There's a topping of black pepper panchetta, for starters, then escarole and gorgonzola, making this burger unparalleled in richness and taste. Oh and it gets better, with rosemary brioche buns bookended the burger!
