On 12 January 2009 the Rainbow Grill closed, and in October 2014, it's slated to reopen under the direction of famed English chef Jonathan Wright. Until then, our original review follows:
The Rainbow Grill is perched on the 65th floor of 30 Rockefeller Center in New York City. The exquisite views are almost worth the below-average and overpriced cuisine. The Restaurant, Bar and Piano Bar all offer breathtaking vistas of the city through its floor to ceiling windows.
The views overlook Southern Manhattan: in sight are the Empire State Building, and the Statue of Liberty; to the East and West you can see the Hudson River, numerous Bridges, Queens, Brooklyn and New Jersey.
